We have various volunteer opportunities available at the 2025 Special Olympics North Carolina Summer Games. With nearly 1,500 athletes and Unified partners competing in the SONC Summer Games, TAA volunteers are needed!

TAA Members can sign-up guests. All volunteers must be 14 years of age or older.

An Athlete Escort takes an athlete to through the various stages of competition (staging, their race and/or competition, the awards area). You will have a lot of one-on-one time with athletes and make sure they make it to their events on time!
Under the leadership of an Awards Manager, awards assistants will help present athletes with their awards after they compete!
Competition Assistants help in various sport capacities at their venues. You could be helping with score keeping, ball-shagging, timing, staging, etc.! Whatever your assignment is, you will be right up close in all the action!

Venue Welcome Team-Access Control volunteers help keep the athletes, coaches, volunteers, and spectators safe by properly monitoring crowds and activity inside the venue, securing designated areas, and maintaining a safe environment for all attendees. The Security Managers at your venue will show you what to do!
Venue Assistants help with odds and ends/logistics at venues. They will be helping support the event with filling up water coolers, managing lines, manning the volunteer check-in area, and other tasks as necessary!
