This course is truly an opportunity for maintenance personnel to look at WHO THEY ARE! A reminder that MAINTENANCE MATTERS and as our industry has evolved so have the expectations of the maintenance leaders in our industry!

Participants will identify goals specific to their career path which may be intertwined with personal goals. We will stress the importance of writing out your goals and putting together a plan of execution. We will also dive into each participants self awareness of where they are professionally and set a realistic timeline for promotion based on industry norms and their individual knowledge bases.

Other Topics Covered:

  • Working Environment

We will look at physical and mental working environments. What kind of environment are you setting for your team members and subordinates? From clean shops, to employee engagement and treatment, to reflecting on environments that may have been anything but set up for success, we will help you ascertain and create the ultimate environment to thrive in.

  • Coaching and Employee Management

What does it mean to be a coach? While leading your team and executing your daily workload are you building leaders for the future? Are your employees a bunch of individuals or do they work within the scope of the team? Whether its maintenance work or sports, in order to WIN, the production is typically optimal when the team is working in unison and executing a clear and concise playbook.

  • Financial Analysis

We will give some tips on budget management and understanding how the work done by maintenance teams can have a positive or negative impact on the overall value of the asset. The credo remains true to this day. Leasing teams handle the first 7 days of the new tenant relationship, maintenance handles the "forever" relationship.

  • Promotion & Advancement

Let's discuss additional ways to lead yourself and your teams to promotion and advancement. From technical skills to association involvement, what does it take to become a respected expert in your field and our industry.
