David Valentiner, CFA Director of Interest Rate Management, First National Bank
David Valentiner is Managing Director of Interest Rate Management at First National Bank (FNB). In his role, David is responsible for overseeing FNB’s interest rate risk management services in North and South Carolina, supporting clients through a variety of derivative solutions.
With over 25 years of financial services experience, David joined FNB in 2017 following its acquisition of Yadkin Bank. Prior to joining FNB, David was a Director of Commodity Risk Management at Fifth Third Bank, Vice President of Capital Markets at Sovereign Bank in Philadelphia and served in different risk management and investment banking roles with Bank of America in Charlotte, London and New York City.
David is a graduate of Davidson College and is a holder of Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA®) and Energy Risk Professional (ERP) designations.
Nick Leverett, Director of Market Analytics, CoStar Group
Nick Leverett is a Director of Market Analytics for CoStar. Nick analyzes commercial real estate data and trends to provide CoStar’s view of the market and outlook for the multi-family, office, industrial, and retail sectors in markets including Raleigh, Durham, Greensboro, and Winston-Salem. Nick is a regular speaker at key industry events, and his research and analysis have been featured in numerous media outlets, including the Triangle Business Journal, the Charlotte Business Journal, and CoStar News. CoStar is the leading provider of commercial real estate information, analytics, and online marketplaces.
Prior to joining CoStar, Nick led the market research team at the real estate investment firm Dilweg, advising company acquisitions and strategy in numerous sunbelt markets. Nick began his career as a practicing attorney, representing clients in complex matters involving real estate, corporate law, and dispute resolution. He is based in Raleigh.
Jack Cottrill, Co-Founder and Managing Partner, Fulton Peak Capital LLC
Jack Cottrill is a Co-Founder and Managing Partner at Fulton Peak Capital LLC, a multifamily investment firm headquartered in Raleigh, NC. Today, Fulton Peak has $278 million assets under management with 1,865 apartment units across 18 properties in the Carolinas and Virginia. The company is vertically integrated through its construction firm, Westridge Construction Partners, and property management firm, Fulton Peak Management, and has 70 team members across offices in Raleigh, NC, Bethesda, MD, Chesapeake, VA and Charleston, SC.
Prior to Fulton Peak, Jack served as a Vice President at Milberg Factors, a commercial finance firm, where he identified and underwrote transactions throughout the southeastern US. In addition, he served as a Vice President at Enverra Partners, an investment banking, strategic advisory and project development firm based in Washington, DC. At Enverra, he worked on a variety of private capital raises, M&A transactions and strategic advisory projects in the US, Europe, Middle East, Africa and Latin America. Jack began his career in the Mergers & Acquisitions Group at Wells Fargo Securities where he advised middle market clients across a broad range of industries. He also served as an Advisory Board Member at Verterra Energy, a modular hydropower technology company founded in 2010 to harness the power of water to produce clean, reliable energy.
Jack attended Washington & Lee University where he served as a captain of the golf team and graduated cum laude with a B.S. in Accounting & Business Administration. He lives in Raleigh, NC with his wife and two children and enjoys playing golf and cheering on the Carolina Panthers.
