This is a Certified Apartment Maintenance Technician (CAMT) program module and can be taken as a stand-alone course. If you are participating in the full CAMT program, you do not need to register for this individual module.

Topics Covered:

  • The most commonly used heating systems in apartment communities
  • Heating system basics, components, and safety
  • Air distribution, electric furnaces, electric baseboard heating, gas furnace heating and hydronic heating
  • How to perform heating repairs with greater ability and confidence

Although this course is targeted at technicians with one year of on-the-job experience, it can also be used to teach others who’d like to learn more about heating maintenance and repair.

The CAMT electrical course (Module A) is a pre-requisite for this and one other CAMT modules: Air Conditioning (Module C-2). Participants must have a solid foundation in electrical work to be successful in these other areas.
